The client is the corporate IT Department of a major telecommunications provider, one of Australia’s largest, most complete and most complex IT environments.

Why

As part of a strategy to move to a collaborative customer-centric organisation and culture, SharePoint2010 was selected to provide a central Enterprise Collaboration Platform from which to provide collaboration, information sharing, Web 2.0 and social networking services to the 40,000+ users across the five main business units.  The collaboration platform supports more than fifty applications across the organisation, so expert SharePoint support is critical to all aspects of the business.

One of the largest SharePoint instances in the country, the environment is made up of four farms, split over development, pre-production and production environment – a total or more than 100 servers. 

How

Unique World was selected due to its deep SharePoint expertise, capabilities demonstrated on projects within the organisation, and valuable intellectual property to support collaboration.

Working in partnership with the client, Unique World created a support team with deep SharePoint 2010 experience. This team is accountable to support all issues with SharePoint and related technologies, providing 13/5 and after hours support across the following technologies – Core platform, FAST, PerformancePoint, Excel Services, BI Centre, InfoPath Services, Visio Services, SharePoint Designer and SharePoint relevant modules on SQL servers.

Now

Since the go-live date in mid-2011, Unique World has worked in partnership with the client to ensure a consistent level of service for this platform that is so critical to its collaboration strategy, now and well into the future.
