This client is a division of one of the world’s largest and most diverse media companies. The Australian business includes many of Australia’s iconic media brands.

Why

The group marketing team looks after an enterprise-wide insights community as well as an international virtual community.  This is a federated business in which many of the businesses compete against each other, and employees traditionally have not shared well.  Much information and intellectual property (IP) resides on individual file shares.

The client wished to leverage its investment in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 to create a Research and Insights Portal, the aim of which was to create a central documentation repository of knowledge (from reports and briefs to proposals and presentations) and to foster a sharing and collaborative environment to leverage that IP.

How

Unique World was selected to deliver this new system, based on demonstrated capabilities and a track record of success in similar engagements with Australia’s most complex organisations such as PWC, Telstra and Lend Lease.

Unique World was selected to:

  • Elicit business requirements through workshops and other forms of consultation
  • Develop a solution that ensured easy management and access of the Research and Insights documents to appropriate staff
  • Automate classification of documentation depending on the associated project
  • Deliver train the trainer training and developing a custom cheat sheet
  • Produce a video so training could be delivered to remote locations on demand

Now

The enterprise-wide Insights community portal was developed over a 4 month period and launched into production in early 2012.  The client community now has a central portal to share information and can find information and ‘self-serve’.  Early adoption illustrates the solution has been a huge success.
