La Trobe University is a multi-campus university based in Victoria.  With learning, teaching and research designed to enrich the world and a history of academic innovation, La Trobe is leading the way in higher education. 

Why

La Trobe required practical solutions to user information needs across its diverse, multi-campus organisation.  It was seeking a review of its existing technology investments, and a roadmap for the future that would provide enhanced collaboration and information management across multiple geographic locations.

How

Unique World developed a Microsoft-centric Information Management Strategy and Roadmap for La Trobe University ICT department.

Unique World’s report focused on maximising return on investment from existing technology investments, including collaboration, document management, workflow and portals.  We identified several low cost, quick win projects that would have a notable impact on user adoption and business value.  This included a re-launch of the existing collaboration service with enhanced functionality and usability, and clear processes and policies for effective usage.  We also provided a high-level governance plan which clarified ownership, roles and responsibilities for several SharePoint-based services. 

Now

La Trobe moved quickly to implement the high priority recommendations within this strategy, and has begun the planning process to implement almost all the recommendations provided in Unique World’s report.
