Nib provides affordable health cover to more than 700,000 people nationwide. Established over 50 years ago, nib has experienced significant national market growth since 2002. Nib recently became the first Australian health fund to demutualise and list on the Australia Securities Exchange (ASX).

The Challenge

NIB's existing internet web site, although providing customers with the necessary information and functionality necessary to transact with NIB, adopted technology that make it cumbersome and labour intensive to keep the site content and features current and fresh.

The Solution

NIB required a solution to be implemented that provided the NIB eCommerce with a tool that enabled them to readily enhance and publish internet site changes, requiring minimal IT support or interaction. The solution needed to demonstrate best of breed design and usability; attracting internet users to site and NIB offerings.

MOSS 2007 was the product selected to implement a solution to meet NIB's eCommernce business requirements. The MOSS 2007 solution provided a combination of out of the box features, online forms, secured site features for anonymous uses and members, highly customised design and usability components and a vehicle enabling quick and effective site maintenance and enhancements.

NIB successfully lauched their new MOSS 2007 internet site which offers highly sophisticated design, usability, business functionality and information pertaining to health insurance related products and services. 

Since its launch NIB has been praised on the site, its responsiveness, stability and usability. NIB is confident, the new site will be key to attracting new customers and keeping their current customer base interested in their offerings.

The NIB eCommerce team now boast the skills and capability necessary to respond quickly to fluctating market conditions that dictate health insurance organisations need to keep their health insurance information current and face to their services fresh and inviting.

Adopting MOSS 2007 will lower the overall operational costs of the web site; reducing the necessity to engage IT staff for simple, yet necessary, site changes and enhancements.
