The Client

TOWER Australia is an innovative provider of insurance, superannuation and retirement solutions. Its objective is to deliver the right products, services and information to help its customers make informed decisions about their risk and superannuation needs. TOWER delivers these services efficiently to customers primarily through a network of independent advisers.

The Challenge

TOWER embarked upon an ambitious reengineering of business processes for its handling of customer claims, with a view to achieving a common process for new business and underwriting, and to move towards straight-through-processing. The reengineering program identified hundreds of business rules to be automated as part of the underpinning technology solution, to be supported by sophisticated imaging and workflow technologies.

The Solution

Unique World was engaged for strategy, architecture and deployment of a robust Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and clustered SQL Server infrastructure platform supporting best-of-breed third party applications for data capture, metadata automation and Business Process Management. The platform was designed and implemented in such a way as to ensure seamless integration with existing disparate back-end systems and the desktop environment, at the same time enabling complex new functionality.

TOWER now has a future-proof and performant SharePoint infrastructure supporting mission-critical claims applications which will form the basis of an industrial strength records management platform.
